HubSpot setup
Connect HubSpot to onSpark
Connect your HubSpot account, choose contacts to import, and manage your connection and data.
The short answer
Open onSpark Settings, find HubSpot under Connected accounts, and connect your own HubSpot account. Then preview and select the contacts you want to add to your onSpark network. Connecting alone does not import your entire CRM.
1. Connect your account
Sign in to onSpark and open Settings → Connected accounts. Find HubSpot and select Connect. Choose the intended HubSpot account, review the contact read and write permissions, and approve the connection. You will return to onSpark. Check that HubSpot appears connected before continuing.
If HubSpot does not let you install the app, ask your HubSpot administrator to check your permissions. Each member should connect their own account; do not share login credentials.
2. Preview and import selected contacts
In Connected accounts, choose Import HubSpot contacts. Select the HubSpot account, then Preview contacts. Select the contacts you want and choose Import selected contacts. Next page clears the current selection, so import your selection before moving to another page.
The import includes contact name, email and job title. Re-importing the same contact from the same HubSpot account updates its imported copy instead of creating another copy. Contacts you have not selected are not automatically imported.
3. Understand what is shared
Selected HubSpot contacts flow into your onSpark network. Configured HubSpot change notifications refresh the imported contact’s name, email and job title. Deletion notifications remove the corresponding imported copy. CRM edits are not counted as conversations or human relationship activity.
An explicit contact export can create a HubSpot contact; an existing email match is preserved. Deals, companies, custom field mapping and automatic relationship-activity write-back are not included in this contact integration.
4. Disconnect or uninstall
Disconnecting your HubSpot connection in Connected accounts stops onSpark from using that connection. It does not uninstall the app for other HubSpot users and does not delete contacts previously imported into onSpark.
To remove the installation for the whole HubSpot account, use Uninstall from HubSpot in the contact controls and type the displayed account ID to confirm. This affects everyone connected to that HubSpot account. Only uninstall when authorized to do so. You can also manage removal in HubSpot’s Connected Apps settings.
Imported onSpark contacts remain after uninstall unless separately deleted. Revoking access does not erase copies already imported. Contact support for assistance with data deletion.
Troubleshooting and support
If your subscription has expired, restore your onSpark access before previewing or importing contacts. If authorization has expired or permissions changed, reconnect HubSpot. If a contact is unavailable, refresh the preview and confirm you can access it in HubSpot. Avoid repeatedly retrying an operation while the service is unavailable.
For help, email support@onspark.com with the time of the problem, the affected HubSpot account ID and the action you were taking. Never include passwords, access tokens or client secrets. onSpark’s privacy policy is available at onspark.com/privacy-policy and terms at onspark.com/terms.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a paid onSpark account?
- Contact preview and import require an active onSpark subscription or authorized complimentary access. Your HubSpot account must permit installing the app and accessing the requested contacts.
- Does onSpark overwrite existing HubSpot contacts?
- Contact export preserves an existing HubSpot contact with the same email. This is selected contact import and export, not a configurable two-way field mapping engine.
- Is this the HubSpot Marketplace listing?
- No. This is the integration setup guide. Marketplace approval and partner status are separate from connecting your HubSpot account.
